ZNAN MISSION,
VISION AND OBJECTIVES
2.1 Mission:
ZNAN focuses on assisting its member organisations develop and sustain
optimum capacity to provide various types of services
to communities in the fight against HIV/AIDS. This
assistance is provided on the premise that ZNAN
does not exercise authority over its member organisations
but relates with them as a partner and facilitator
of collaboration and coordination of effort among
them. For this reason, ZNAN’s raison-de-tre
is to promote cohesion and a common sense of purpose
among HIV/AIDS service organisations in order to
create synergy among them in the fight against the
pandemic. Against this background, ZNAN’s
mission is;
To promote and facilitate liaison and coordination among HIV/AIDS service
organisations and provide assistance in strengthening
member organisations’ capacities to respond
to the challenges of HIV/AIDS in Zambia. ZNAN will
do this in collaboration with government and other
cooperating partners.
2.2 Vision:
In
relation to the above mission statement, it is expected
that its accomplishment will ultimately lead to
the realisation of the following vision, which is
commonly shared among the ZNAN member organisations;
A Zambian society free of HIV/AIDS
This vision statement is also shared at national level as it is defined
in the National HIV/AIDS Intervention strategic
plan. Therefore, ZNAN’s commitment to this
vision is based on the realisation that the fight
against the HIV/AIDS pandemic should be guided by
one commonly shared vision at national level and
that the fulfilment of its mission will contribute
to the attainment of such a society in Zambia ultimately.
