Presently,
ZNAN is composed of six components as described below;
3.1
ZNAN Congress
This
body is responsible for governing the affairs of ZNAN and consists of representatives
of member organizations. The Congress meets at least once every two years
3.2
Liaison Committee
The Liaison
Committee is responsible for policy guidance and regulating the operations
of the secretariat in the implementation of various programmes. The Committee
is composed of no more than fourteen elected members and no more than three
co-opted member representing member NGOs and come from at least five provinces.
3.3
The Secretariat
The Secretariat
is responsible for the implementation of the day-to-day activities of ZNAN
and is answerable to the Liaison Committee.
3.4
The Technical Committee
The Technical
Committee is an ad-hoc body whose main responsibility is to consider, evaluate
and approve project proposals from member organizations. The membership of
this Committee is comprised of people with different professional backgrounds
with relevance to the nature of projects being considered.
3.5
ZNAN Provincial Committees
The Provincial
Committees are the liaison points between the ZNAN secretariat and provincial
based NGOs and CBOs and provide the basis for ZNAN’s representation in rural
areas. These Committees also provide a mechanism for the decentralization
of the secretariat’s activities. The composition of these Committees vary
from province to province depending on the types of NGOs and CBOs that are
actively involved in HIV/AIDS prevention care and support services in each
given province.
3.6
Membership
Membership
is open to any registered Non-Governmental Organisation involved in HIV/AIDS
work in the country. In addition, community groups, government agencies, private
companies, international organizations and other non-NGO interested organizations
and individuals are offered Associate membership without voting rights.
